Smartphone Ownership at 54%; Jumps 5% in Three Months

February 6, 2013 -- The latest data from digital world measuring firm comScore finds smartphone ownership is at 54% -- up 5% since September. Apple ranked as the top smartphone manufacturer with 36.3% share, while Google Android led as the to smartphone platform with 53.4% share.

125.9 million people in the U.S. owned smartphones (54% mobile market penetration) during the three months ending in December, up 5% since September.
Google Android ranked as the top smartphone platform with 53.4% market share (up 0.9 percentage points), while Apple’s share increased 2 percentage points to 36.3%.
