Nine of 10 American, Ages 18-44, Will Own a Smartphone by 2017

August 2013 - Media analysis firm eMarketer's latest estimate of U.S. smartphone usage by age group.  Individuals counted must own at least one smartphone and use it at least once per month.

By 2017, it is estimated that:
 

• Nine of 10 Americans, ages 18-44 will own a smartphone,

• Eight of 10 Americans age 45-54 will be smartphone users, and,

• Seven out of 10 teens (ages 12-17) will own smartphones as well as seniors ages 55-64.
