Images are eye catching and memorable, so it makes sense that they have a powerful impact on advertisement. What's really interesting is just how powerful it is. An ad campaign was tested with and without an actors face. The conversion rate for the ad without the face was 3.7%, while the one including the face was 5.5%. Another campaign found that when adding a picture of customers to their landing page, conversion rates went up 105%. Not only does the content of the image matter, but the size of the image itself. In an experiment done by Skinner Auctions, they increased image size and got 63% more visitors to start the bidding process and 329% more to complete bid forms.
